.CONCEPTS
A series of thoughts and ideas that I have come up with for different games at different times. I thought I'd post them here in the interest of your interest in me... Or something like that. I don't know just take a look and let me know what ya think alright?

Zero G Arena
Another FPS, which is sort of like a standard death match game, but set in environments such as space stations under water, etc. Real world physics would be implemented (i.e. if you are going in one direction and you don’t try to stop you will keep going) so there will be a variety of power ups that improve your mobility and speed rather than just your weapons/amour giving the game a slight RPG element to it.. These would include such things as weighted belts, jet packs of different calibre, magnetic boots, etc. Interesting 3d level design and very unique zero G combat would set this one apart from other FPS. Of course the story is a little vague how this works but then again so was Quake III Arena. Players will constantly have to be prepared for an attack from any direction and a slow game will probably remove the effect of surprise attacks from above/below. The game will be a futuristic, spacey type game with shiny clean technology. The levels will be mainly in huge space stations, with lots of light shinny greys and glowing lights and stuff. The way I imagine the characters bares a striking resemblance to Warhammer 40, 000 Space Marines. Although the levels will have to be quite open to allow plenty of room for flying, levels consisting of a large, single, open area should be avoided, as these would get boring very quickly. Rather, a type of design with lots of stuff resembling scaffolding sticking out from all angles would be preferable, this would allow plenty of stuff to duck behind, put items on, jump off, etc. Here are a few examples… An abandoned mine on Mars, a city sewer system, a construction site and the list goes on.

Unlike other FPSs, armour isn’t an amount that can be increased by picking up armour bonuses and decreases when you take damage.Like the jets, everyone starts with level1 armour and need to pick up a particular power up to upgrade it. Any damage taken to the player is moderated by a value based on their level of armour. When enough damage is done to the player, their armour can be damaged meaning that it is effectively the same as their level being decreased.
Every player starts with level1 jets. By picking up a ‘jet upgrade’ power up they can upgrade their jets to the next level. Each new level of jets brings added acceleration, deceleration and manoeuvring ability. They can also carry more fuel. Like armour, jets are downgraded when the player takes damage. All the games weapons have do two types of damage to enemies; one type of damage is done to the player themselves, decreasing their health, the other damages their armour and jets, resulting in them being downgraded. This means that when fighting a tough enemy with a very high level jets and armour, rather than having to try to beat them in that state a player can choose to use a weapon that will downgrade their enemies, making them easy to beat before actually going in for the kill. The game will also include the standard power ups needed for a FPS. (I.e. Health, Jet Fuel, Armour Repairs, Ammo and Everything else needed to maintain a player.) Due to the zero gravity environments, the way players move around will be quite different from your average FPS. The way the players ‘fly’ around in zero gravity will follow true Newtonian physics (Sort of like the old game Asteroids) except that momentum will be toned down to keep the game easy to play. Although the game will be zero-g, the levels will still have plenty of wall, floor, ceilings etc to prevent it from being boring.

The players will have the ability to ‘latch’ on these surfaces and walk on them, giving them a little bit of stability to line something up and launch off. However, walking will be very slow compared with flying so players will not be able to stay there very long. It is also possible to rebound off a wall to suddenly change direction (probably by pressing the ‘launch off wall’ key or something just as you hit a surface.) Players with upgraded Jets will be able to accelerate and decelerate much faster than a player with standard jets, this will make the jet upgrades a very powerful item and where they are placed in the level will reflect this.

Ghost Planet - "Are You Afraid?"
A simple top down or scrolling platform shooter based around the idea of you being one of the last few surviving people in a city destroyed by mind controlling aliens. Your job is to find and rescue the last remaining people in different levels and bring them to safety, you’re abandoning the city. You will battle across urban streets, city skyscrapers and filthy sewers against the evil alien zombies (who are really people taken over by mind controlling aliens). A real comic book style would suit this game, like a turn based novel type system showing us the story as it unfolds. You are more or less a ‘accidental hero’ who doesn’t have a clue what to do while having to escape the clutches of government agents and the alien threat, no where to go, no place to hide, you are all alone. Your weapons wouldn’t include your average everyday weapons, your not a soldier here, you find weapons at gun shops but other weapons include, a builder’s nail gun, kid’s baseball bat, bags of garbage wielded in a kung fu style, shopping trolleys, etc. Everything could be at your disposal, for example, see a car? Look in the boot… Is there a jack? Take it, you now have a car jack in your arsenal. Granted not everything will be useful at the time but who knows what could be around the corner. With your mini van you must travel from level to level rescuing the poor souls inside the buildings, shopping centres, etc. And bring them back out safely to your mini van (almost like Lemmings but just the idea, not the game).

StuperHeroes - "They're Tough, They're Mean, They're... Utterly Stupid."
An RPG cartoon action/adventure game (possibly just a 2D platform game like MetalSlug or Commander Keen. Basically it’s your totally ludicrous situation where a band of misfits (lead by the famous “Stitch”) try to save Earth from the clutches of the evil “Christopher”, his pet koala “Cuddles” and his right hand man “Judge Zombie”. It appears Christopher, tired of sitting on his hands waiting for a decent battle has decided to test himself and take over Earth, much to the dismay of his father (who is actually a rather unnegotiable business man with a sharp wit, dress sense and strong family values). Taking with him his pet koala “Cuddles” and right hand man “Judge Zombie”, he’s casting down a reign of hellfire that no man can stop. Meanwhile across the world a large overstuffed doll is gearing up, alongside five other individuals. They are the chosen ones, the ones with the only power that will stop Christopher’s evil reign of terror! They are, STUPERHEROS! Bright colourful backgrounds and totally whacked out scenes, lots of exaggerated environments, odd shaped buildings and such will be the setting for this game.

Gopher Trenches - "Start Digging"
A simple strategy game where you play as an elite Gopher soldier, but this isn’t a codename; you’re actually a Gopher. Your job is to basically take out the evil Mole overlords and free the many golf courses/farm lands/desert plains from the clutches of the Moles. This is Gopher Trenches where the initial aim is to provide the user with an extra dimension of First/Third person game play. An interactive environment based on real life materials such as water, mud, dirt and rock achieves this. All materials may be manipulated in some way apart from large rocks and metal, but sand/dirt/mud/grass/trees/water can all be used to your advantaged. Weapons are not just confined to the razor sharp teeth and claws that all Gophers possess; we’re looking more along the lines of totally whacked weapons (eg. Rocket Launchers, Machine Guns, Drills, Jackhammers, Laser weapons, A HUGE assortment of Explosives, etc.) This could be great as just a simple multiplayer game too, running about levels as a Gopher allows access to vents and drain pipes and etc.

Christopher Walken's Pro-Walker
A take off of the Tony Hawk, Dave Mira, Matt Hoffman, Kelly Slater Pro-Anything series. I believe it has a lot of potential as an either console or PC game. Same street like environments as seen in Tony Hawks 2. Less ramps, More Steps. There are shoes that exist developed by Globe. They have hard plastic curved sheeting in between the toe and heel of the shoe. This allows you to if you want to, slide along railings and edges (grinding). Can perform all sorts of moves like… Funky/Goose Stepping, Swinging Around Poles, Back/Front/Off The Wall Flips, Rail/Edge Slides, Various Break Dancing Manoeuvres, Walking On The Hands, and just about any type of move you could think of (even kung fu/aerobatic/gymnastic moves) while taking a stroll. Various characters of course but not to sure who they would be, Christopher Walken would be a definite though, since his appearance in the Fat Boy Slim clip for “Weapon of Choice".
